Kiszka Blood Sausage - 1 Ring

Sold in a one ring package, Kiszka or Kaszanka is the old fashioned sausage consisting of beef blood, barley and natural spices. It comes in natural casing in rings recognizable for its dark brown color. How to prepare Kiszka 1. Prepare a medium size saucepan, add a teaspoon of butter and chopped fresh onions, fry onions on a slow heat for couple minutes 2. Peel casing off Kiszka, slice into smaller pieces and add to onions. 3. Let Kiszka melt, move with a fork so it does not get burned. 4. Fry on slow heat for about 10 minutes stirring delicately. Keep frying a bit longer for crispy texture.

Just tax good as I remembered it
As a child I enjoyed barley sausage. I've searched for it on th eInternet and finally found S&D Polish deli. I took a chance on them and was glad I did. This is just the way I remember Kiszka as a child. So happy I tried them.

Christmas 2013 Order
Dear S&D Polish Deli, I was raised by a Polish Mom and Italian Dad and did not know what to get for them this Christmas. I decided to surprise them with a cooler full of goodies from the past: nut bread, poppy seed roll, herring, Kielbasy, Pierogi, Kiszka, etc.. Best idea ever.. Both Mom and Dad went crazy, Dad is 87 and Mom 85 and I am so glad my wife, daughter and I decided to send them something special.. Yummy Kiszka! For a momemt I thought I was back in the NJ and NY butcher shops we went to every weekend for our meats many years ago! Nothing like it here in MS. So glad I found this place on-line that can deliver so quickly!
